Vicky of Spirohealth May update

So, 6 weeks have passed since the dreaded lockdown started – I guess we all knew in the back of our minds that it would probably last this long. Those days towards the end of March seem so far off & it’s amazing how easily & quickly I have adapted to the ‘new normal’. I wonder how long it will take for us to fall back into old habits? There are certainly things for me that I personally want to keep going – my morning run through Wimbledon Common & Cannizzaro Park (so beautiful with the rhododendrons in bloom at the moment), taking time to prepare fresh meals, walking the dogs – really simple things which I’ve always done but actually hadn’t really appreciated until everything else stopped & they became the main focus of my day.

I hope when we get through this we won’t forget all the amazing people who have been working throughout to keep us going – of course all the fantastic NHS staff but also the shop workers, refuse workers, transport staff – the list goes on. Without them things could have been so different.

So many people are doing things we don’t even know about – local pubs making meals for the NHS, food banks being set up, picking up shopping for neighbours. It’s actually really bringing back that community spirit & I truly hope we can keep this going.

But like everyone else I can’t wait to be able to see my friends & family & give them a huge hug & kiss. I’m really looking forward to seeing you all back in the clinic & hearing how you’ve been getting on – hopefully it won’t be long.

For now, keep safe & well everyone ️
